South Sulawesi Nickel Project (Indonesia)

AI-Driven Targeting and Laterite Nickel Exploration

An integrated exploration program focused on lateritic nickel mineralisation, combining geological mapping, spectral analysis, geomorphological interpretation, and AI-assisted targeting.

The study targeted ultramafic complexes and weathering profiles favourable for nickel laterite formation, including limonite and saprolite zones developed over peridotite and serpentinite units.

Results:

  • Delineation of nickel-bearing laterite profiles, including:

    • upper limonite zone (Fe-rich, Ni-bearing)

    • underlying saprolite zone (higher-grade Ni enrichment)

  • Identification of favourable geomorphological conditions, including plateau surfaces and low-relief zones controlling laterite development

  • Spectral and geological mapping confirmed distribution of ultramafic host rocks and weathering intensity

  • Definition of continuous lateritic horizons with potential for bulk-tonnage nickel mineralisation

Technical Value:

  • Integration of geomorphology, lithology, and weathering profiles for accurate laterite targeting

  • AI-assisted delineation of high-potential Ni zones across large areas

  • Optimisation of drilling strategy based on laterite thickness and grade distribution trends
